It was a hot and steamy shower…
So. I managed to convince my honey to get up super early with me and watch some of the Leonids shower. We only lasted 20-30 min, mainly because it was cold and the constellation was directly over head and, without chairs, that made for some heavy neck craning. But what we saw was pretty neat. Had it been on the weekend and not on a Tuesday morning, I’d have made him stay up with me for an hour or more to watch.
I’d like to say that the shower inspired story after story…
…but it didn’t.
Probably because it was four in the morning. With no coffee. But I have notes! And jotted notes are far better, because months from now I’ll read them and come up with something that has nothing whatsoever to do with a meteor shower. That tends to be how it goes.
On another front, I’ve completed 10,450 words so far this month. Nothing quite as dramatic as all the folks working their way through 50k word novels, but it’s three finished stories, plus some odd writing.
A few weeks ago I had toyed with the idea of participating in NaNoWriMo, but had too many short stories wanting to be written. Then I toyed with the idea of writing 50k words of short stories, but then the magical calender frog hopped all over my November weekends. Instead, I’m contenting myself with continuing to meet my self-imposed deadlines through the end of the year without going crazy.
Well. Let’s keep things realistic. I’ll be happy just to meet my deadlines, crazy or no.
